About Taylor

Taylor came on strong in the 2021 season to establish himself as an integral part of the Rangers pitching staff for the future. After beginning the season in the bullpen, Taylor got moved into the rotation for good in mid-August. He became the first Texas pitcher in more than two years to win four straight starts and also tied a team record with three straight quality starts without a walk.

The Rangers named Taylor their pitcher of the month for July 2021, when he had a 1.72 ERA. In August, he had a 2.92 ERA and held batters to a .233 average.

Averaging 95.1 mph on his fastball, Taylor ranks among the top six hardest throwing lefties in the game today.
